I started surfing in '78 at Sportsman's Pier and was hooked from wave. I learned to surf by watching the older guys. At that time style meant something. You could identify each surfer from the beach by their individual style. Building and repairing boards was a natural progression for me. I started as a kid repairing boards for myself & friends. It later progressed into building and repairing boards for the local shops. In 94' I began building the Outer Banks surfboards AB. I've built and repaired hundreds of boards for AB through the years. We strive to give the customer a top quality product using the best materials available. Resin, cloth and blanks are all first quality from the best manufacturers. SURFBOARDS: I specialize in custom surfboard design, building boards to fit the individual needs of the surfer and the conditions each board will be used in. I enjoy building all types of surfboards - retro, nose riders, twin fins and thrusters - you name it, I can build it. BOARD REPAIRS: I repair and restore all polyester, epoxy, soft tops and pop-outs. Surfboard repair has become more technical with the popularity of new exotic building materials and building methods. The epoxy Surftech and Boardworks products must be repaired properly to maintain structural integrity. Only properly trained people should repair these boards, as there is a lot more to these boards than what you see on the surface.
